Premier Fly Fishing in Idaho’s Teton Valley

Teton Valley has long been the premier location for Idaho fly fishing, and with plentiful rivers, streams, and lakes harboring healthy populations of trophy-sized trout, it is easy to see why.

Just a short drive from Huntsman Springs is The Teton River, while The South Fork and Henry’s Fork of the Snake offer world-class fly fishing just a 45 minute drive to south and north respectively. You can reach the Madison, Yellowstone, Beaverhead, and all ofthe rivers and streams of Yellowstone Park all within a 90 minute drive.

For your fly-fishing enjoyment at Huntsman Springs, there are 7 private lakes, fully stocked with hungry rainbows and cutthroats. Due to the abundance of mayflies and terrestrials as a constant food source, these fish have grown over the years to enormous proportions (ranging from 2 to 12 pounds), and provide world-class trophy lake fishing. Each of the lakes contain solar-powered aerators to promote and sustain fish populations.

Homeowners and members of Huntsman Springs can learn the art of fly casting and or perfect their skills with lessons from John Pehrson, Fly Fishing Director at Huntsman Springs, and local guide from the acclaimed Teton Valley Lodge. John has been guiding fly fishing trips in Idaho for over 55 years, has owned and operated Teton Valley Lodge for 30 years, and also owned three fly tying companies including Umpqua Feather Merchants. There is simply no one with more experience.

He, along with Huntsman Springs’ outfitting partners at Teton Valley Lodge, will make your fly-fishing experiences truly enjoyable. Whether you choose to fish on property or to float or wade one ofthe many rivers here in our area, the team will provide you the fly-fishing experience of a lifetime.
